Trix Are For Dogs
Take A Bow With your dog standing, hold a treat to his nose in your right hand a slowly lower it between his front feet.he should lower himself onto his elbows.you can have your hand on the side of the tummy to act as an aid.don't hold the dog up This can be akward to it maybe best to hold the clicker in by his tummy.click and treat. If he won't drop all the way to his elbows, click and treat part way down then increase your criteria each time.Keep luring thisway, eventually removing the hand near his tummy.A handy tip for larger dogs is to hold the treat under their chest near the elbows,by putting it in front the back chest area, rather than from the front.Once he gets the idea fade out the lure.It may be useful to tease with the treat, showing it to your dog to remind him that it's his for the taking if only he can get the clicker to go offWork on achieving a longer bow by delaying the click. when the dog is predictable add the word or the cue.you may also be able to capture this behavior by having your clicker handy when you know your dog will do a stretch.

Useful Tip: when you first bring a new dog into your home, it is important to make sure that he or she does not suffer from seperation anxiety. It is good to leave the house frequently for brief piriods of time so the dogs early learining about departures is that they are no BIG deal and predict easy, tolerable lenthts of absence.soften the blow of your departures by giving the dog exciting toys like stufed animals . get your dog focused on toys , when you play with him incorporate toys hold chew toys for him teach him to find a toy you've hidden in the room and celebrate his find with a game of tug of war or fetch. teach him the toys by name ask him to bring you one when you come back don't great him until he brings it . the more activities and toys the less he will depend on human attention as his sole stimulation. Also when you first get him it's best to not let him sleep in the bedroom he may get too attached and will create a barking problem it's best to make him sleep one night in the room and one night out.JUst until he gets used to the idea of not alwyas having you around
Dance Inside your home with your dog on his leash hold a treat a few steps in front of him.Hold the leash in your hand as if you were walking him, give the leash a SLIGHT tug and say "Dance", when your dog comes foward tell him to stay. Pull the leash again just enough so he will move his feet without walking towards you and repeat "Dance" . The idea is to get him to move his feet while staying in that spot. When your dog moves his feet while staying in the same spot click and give him the treat it will take a while but if Belle can learn it your dog can learn it too...lol. Eventualy you can give the command DANCE and he should get it no problem when he has it down you can start teaching him without the leash.
Sing Bring your dog into a quiet room with no distractions. When you want your dog to sing pick a tone and stick with it Repeat this tone outloud to your dog remember to make it simple so your dog will catch on quicker. Tell your dog "Sing" and then make the tone you've chosen for him to sing keep repeating it and eventually your dog will start to copy you. To let him know that he is geting the idea click and treat him at the first noise he makes . Eventually your dog will catch on to the tone you are using. Do this exercise with him a few times a day it's a bit difficult at first but once he gets the idea it'll be easier.
