Narragansett has some of Rhode Island's most beautiful beaches.
Narragansett Town Beach
Located at the Narragansett Pier, the Narragansett Town Beach has great waves that make this one of the most popular surfing locations in the state.
Scarborough State Beach
Located on Ocean Road, Scarborough is known to many as the jewel of Rhode Island's beaches. Scarborough is very popular with a large bathhouse and numerous pavilions along the beachside boardwalk. To the south, Scarborough South has its own bathhouse and large grassy areas that are great for picnics with family and friends.
Roger Wheeler State Beach
Roger Wheeler State Beach is located on Sand Hill Cove Road near Galilee. Named for another important Rhode Islander, Roger Wheeler formed the life saving system in Rhode Island. With waters sheltered by the Harbor of Refuge, Roger Wheeler State Beach has calm waters that are popular with families with small children. The large bathhouse has picnic tables and a playground for the kids.
Salty Brine State Beach
Named for the legendary Rhode Island radio personality, Salty Brine State Beach is a short stretch of sand adjacent to the breachway in Galilee. Formally known as the Galilee State Beach, Salty Brine has quiet waters that are great for kids. It is also a wonderful spot to watch the ships coming and going through the Breachway.
