Welcome to my home for virtual miniatures and game development. Here you can find information of game play aids like V_MAP and VirMin. You can also find my rules for tactical starship combat and a space empire campaign system. I've also posted a number of game dev galleries, links, and web toys that I hope you will find interesting and useful.

August 20th, 2007: Updated the random plot hook/story generator web toy and added the Rocket Clac utility to the resources page

May 2nd, 2007: Added the random plot hook/story generator web toy to the resources page as well as a link to the Tactical Command Yahoo group. Progress on the TCOM3 rules is moving at a good clip. It is essentially ready for playtest as soon as I develop a comprehensive playtest package. I'm also kick starting Cluster War development so it can catch up to TCOM3. Assuming no surprises, I hope to have a playtest campaign up and running by this summer.

April 23rd, 2007: Fixed a bug in the Alien Name Generator web toy. Changed the navigation bar so that it is easier to read and separate it from the web page content. Progress on the Tactical Command 3rd edition continues.

March 9th, 2007: Updated V_MAP to version 1.8 in order to fix some config and internationalization bugs.

January 28th, 2007: The rules for Tatical Command 3rd edition and Cluster War 3rd edition are pretty solid and almost ready for open playtesting. The difficult part is going to be creating the dozens and dozens of images and graphics that will be needed. I decided to use a syle that's within my skill set and is easy on printers. So, most of the images will be 'line drawings' in black and white or grayscale. Here are some examples...

October 4th, 2006: Work on polishing up the rules continues. I've decided to make the Tacitcal Command and Cluster War rules free for a couple of reasons. I realized that I enjoyed the game development side of the equation much more than the business side. Another advantage to that decision is that I created a cooperative art project on the DoGA CGA Yahoo group to help create artwork for the two books. Hopefully, that will greatly speed up the release date. BTW, TCOM3 and CW3 will not be public domain. For creative control purposes, it will probably be protected by some flavor of the Creative Commons. I have not reached a decision about the source code and whether it will become open source or not.

August 30th, 2006: The first drafts for Tactical Command and Cluster War 3rd edition rules have both passed their first draft milestones. The DAT Builder has already been updated to support TCOM3. Now, the lion's share of work will be in creating maps, charts, and assorted artwork for these two PDFs. I've also updated the Alien Random Name generator to include seed words so that you can do fun things like convert your name into alien babble text.
