Major Chords

Here are the major chords in the closest position to the nut. For the more difficult chords (Db, Eb, and Ab) I show additional fingerings farther up the neck (away from the nut). I suggest learning the Major Chord Moveable Forms (Barre Chords). After you study this page, the moveable forms might make more sense to you.

You can skip the videos if you just want to look up one chord, but, if you want to know more about chords, the videos might help.

NOTE: If you are looking for an A# chord, The Bb Chord has the same pitches by different names.

NOTE: If you are looking for a C# chord, The Db Chord has the same pitches by different names.

NOTE: If you are looking for a D# chord, The Eb Chord has the same pitches by different names.
Rather than repeat all the alternate fingerings again, just compare Eb to Db. We are 2 frets higher. Same fingerings work.

NOTE: If you are looking for a G# chord, The Ab Chord has the same pitches by different names.

Here are some excellent books on the subject
