"Bad Bow’s naked pictures"
This
page represents the most detailed work done to "BAD BOW" since I
bought it. The truck's factory colors were brown and white. The previous owner
had the entire truck painted brown as seen in the original
photos. The second coat of paint was put over the original factory paint.
This second coating made the task of simple repaint impossible. To avoid any
rust and hide any imperfections under a planned future custom paint job, I
had all the paint removed from the truck. Below are the pictures taken during
the final stages of paint removal. The truck is parked inside a paint booth for
the application of rust protection and body primer. Notice in the pictures all
of the factory body moldings have been removed. The hood ornament, door drip
rails, cab moldings, fender emblems and factory mirrors were removed.
The
gray spots you see in the photos are from dents fixed from previous body shop
visits. During the paint removal process, the shop discovered previous
work on the hood. The previous hood work indicated that the hood had suffered
damage I did not know existed. The shop redid the hood work and prepared the
hood even better to hide any imperfections.
If
you look carefully at the passenger side bed, you can identify the bed was not
an original two-tank truck bed. I had the passenger gas side door installed
from the original bed. The pictures also show how the roll pan is weld into the
body for a smooth appearance.
The shop sealed all the body for rust protection before applying any primer.
