About the artist
Dorion Stanger has her studio in Southwest Washington and helps women in the Portland and Vancouver areas commemorate their pregnancies. She has twenty one years of experience as an elementary and middle school art teacher. PMS was started nine years ago after making the sculptures for some friends and realizing how positive it made them feel about their bodies and how it enhanced their birth experience. Her sculptures have been featured on Good Day Oregon and in several area newspapers.  They were also displayed at the Portland Children's Expo, at the Midwifery Cooperative's, "Salute to Motherhood" art exhibit, and at the Mother Tree Art Gallery.
Mission Statement
The bonding process between mother and child begins long before birth.  It is during pregnancy that the foundation for a strong attachment forms.  By helping women have a positive experience in honoring and relating to their pregnancies, my hope is to empower them to create a bond that will nurture healthy, secure, affectionate and lifelong relationships.  The Pregnancy Memory Sculpture is art celebrating life!
