Johann Sebastian (Bastian) Benner & Ann Hunsberger
Johann Sebastian BENNER (Bender) was baptized at Laubenheim Germany on 19 May 1714. He was a son of Esajas Bender and Maria Margaretha Schenbach who were m. at Laubenheim on 11 May 1700. Esajas was a son of Johannes Bender and Maria was a daughter of Hans Peter Schenbach. Sebastian arrived in Philadelphia in 1738 on the Galley St. Andrew. Ann, daughter of Ulrich Hunsberger, pioneer, was born 1728. By 1744 Sebastian began buying land, eventually becoming quite prosperous, owning about 400 acres between the Allentown and Cowpath Roads. He died in 1764. She married Rev. Jacob Funk, and died 1/10/1785, is buried in the Germantown Mennonite Cemetary.Children:

He was born 14/3/1756; she was born 2/1/1762. He was a farmer and a supervisor of Franconia township. He lived on his father's plantation until his death 12/10/1827. He left an estate of $2823.52. She died 3/11/1828. They are buried at Franconia Mennonite Cemetary.Children:

Isaac Benner was born 25/10/1799. He married Susanna, born 9/8/1809) in 1828 or 1829 and farmed his father's homestead, buying the 72 acres from his brothers and sisters in 1828. He served as a supervisor of the Franconia Township and as township treasurer. When he died intestate 9/3/1863, his property valued at $5,3000 was sold to George Delp, passing from his father after over 100 years. She died 9/4/1890. Both are buried at Franconia Mennonite Cemetary.Children:

Leah Springer Benner (September 1, 1838- June 17, 1911.) m. Daniel Rittenhouse Umsted (1827-1901),son of William Rittenhouse Umsted and Maria Rittenhouse, on November 10, 1859 at Montgomery Baptist Church. . Children: .: Harrison Benner (b., June 4, 1860); Maria Benner (b. April 1, 1862,; Jonathan Benner (b. Fri., November25, 1864.); William Benner (b. January 6, 1868)and Charles Benner ((b.
