| OCTOBER 2005 With two planets changing direction, four changing sign and 2 eclipses, October is an intense month, heralding a time of powerful changes in our lives. In chronological order, the series of astrological events starts from the very first day of the month, with Mars turning retrograde in the sign of Taurus. Mars retrogrades every two years and two months, and instead of traversing a given sign in approximately 42 days as he does when direct, the retrograde period can have him spend up to almost 8 months there. The last time Mars went retrograde in Taurus was September 1973 and this will not happen again until September 2052. From now until December 10th, matters related to possessions, earning capacity, financial stability, self-worth and the things we value will come under close scrutiny. There will be ample time to address any issues in these areas, to review our projects and plans, and to rethink whatever actions we may have set in motion around mid August this year. The next big astrological event of the month comes only 2 days later .The New Moon of October 3rd is not an ordinary New Moon, it is also a Solar Eclipse. Occurring at 10deg19 Libra , this is the last one in the present series in Libra, finalizing the important changes on the relational level that started last year, with special focus on personal, business and professional partnerships. The New Moon Solar Eclipse trines Neptune, stimulating inspiration and intuition, favouring psychic connections,enhancing our subtle perceptions and telepathic capacities, and adding a touch of magic to all our interactions, while the sextile with Saturn provides stability and long-term duration to all relationships started now. Passion and powerful attractions reach a peak of intensity with the opposition of Venus to Mars in mutual reception (in each other’s ruling signs) . For some, this is the moment when a passionate relationship started sometime early December last year, and powerfully re-energized around mid May 2005 reaches a culminating point and demands to be dealt with openly. Not far from the Eclipse point, Mercury joins Jupiter in the same peace-loving and relationship-oriented sign of Libra, sextiling Pluto and squaring Chiron. Happiness and optimism prevail, meetings and conversations have a healing quality, bringing joy, renewed hope and harmony, and we find it very easy now to express our most intimate thoughts, feelings and desires. You may have had a glimpse of what this Solar Eclipse might mean to you last month, around September 26th, when a meeting, a piece of information, a private conversation, a letter, a phone call, or maybe even a dream allowed you to throw a glance into the future. On a less positive note, the Solar Eclipse conjuncts Vindemiatrix, a rather unfavourable fixed star ruling scandal,divorce,separation and widowhood, warning us to tread very carefully where partnerships are concerned. Be it in love or in business, caution is the keyword. However, considering the favourable aspects received by the Eclipse point, and also the fact that Mars stops and reverses direction just a little before conjuncting Caput Algol, a malefic fixed star associated with “losing one’s head”, we shall hopefully be able to keep our heads clear and avoid making any mistakes that might lead to painful and/or costly breakups. On the financial level, Jupiter conjunct Mercury sextiles Pluto, bringing about the opportunity of a successful financial endeavour or a very lucrative business contract, spelling big money. This is a very favourable period opening up for those of you who have embarked upon an important business venture sometime around end November 1994. If things have been less than satisfactory for you lately, this planetary aspect opens the way to tremenduous improvement in this area. This will happen gradually, and if at present your finances give you reasons of concern, hang on a little longer - this is a temporary situation, just wait and see! On October 8th both Venus and Mercury change signs, Venus leaving Scorpio for adventure-loving Sagittarius, and Mercury losing the gentle Libran touch to intense and secretive Scorpio ways. This will strongly reflect in the way we express our thoughts and manifest our feelings until the end of the month. The Full Moon of October 17th at 24deg13 Aries is also a Lunar Eclipse. Squared by Chiron, the Moon opposes the Sun conjunct Jupiter, increasing our hopes and a strong desire to have things take a positive turn in a difficult relationship or situation involving heartache, sorrow and feeling abandoned. With Venus square Uranus, trine Saturn and sextile Neptune, there is a deep wish to make things work for the better in love and attain a much needed level of stability, even if this means breaking some rules in the process. Powerful Pluto aspects favourably the Lunar Eclipse, helping us change whatever needs changing to obtain the desired result. The same goes for monetary matters, where anxiety and fear should not stop us from making the right decisions to stabilize our financial situation, even if this implies using some daring and out-of-the-ordinary solutions. Confuse thinking and communication blockages may be a problem now, with Mercury squaring both Neptune and Saturn, and so are feelings of hopelessness, discouragement, and even fear. The deception element is very strong in the picture, and some may use underhanded methods to get what they want. Do not believe everything that you hear or read at this time, and let your inner voice guide you. Older contractual matters may reach an impasse now, and new contracts or any kind of business arrangments should be postponed until later. If possible, do not sign anything now. Keep an eye on your possessions when in crowded places and make sure that you know where you put your keys or cell phone. You can expect car or computer glitches to happen now more often than at any other time, but buying new ones at this moment is strongly advised against. Speaking of computers, new viruses on the internet and an intensification of the hacker attacks.are more than likely to develop now, so back up your files and take all precautions to have your computer protected. In terms of long-range develpments, this Full Moon Lunar Eclipse marks the culminating moment in a situation, relationship or state of things which started around the time of the Aries Solar Eclipse of April 19th last year, and marked a powerful turn of events around mid January 2005, on a rather tense and somber background. You can expect to see the final act unfolding around mid July next year. The Sun enters intense and secretive Scorpio on October 23rd. Following the Sun, three days later Jupiter leaves Libra and enters Scorpio for a 13 month long visit, giving new depth and intensity to our perceptions and interactions. If we take a look at Scorpio’s two rulers, Mars and Pluto, we find Mars in retrograde motion squaring Neptune, and Pluto getting ready for its annual meeting with Venus. Romantically, the relationships that find their beginning now spell pure passion and are deeply karmic in nature - debts are being paid and rewards reaped at times like these - deep love and obssessive, magnetic attractions are overwhelming. With Mars squaring Neptune, which goes direct the same day after over 5 months of slumber, this seems to imply a high amount of secrecy and unorthodox manoeuvres. Clandestine affairs thrive at times like these, unrequited love does not miss from the picture, and stalkers might be busy doing their thing more now than at any other time The month ends on this intense note, depressive states are not far, but more about this in next month’s forecast. |
