    The month begins on the background set by the Last Quarter Moon of January 3rd . The Moon in Libra conjuncts Jupiter and trines Neptune, while Venus and Mercury make a tight conjunction with Pluto – this set of aspects spells pure passion and happy developments in the relationships area, maybe as a result of some private discussions where intense feelings are boldly and unexpectedly revealed. The thoughts shared now and the decisions taken will help healing old wounds and letting go of past unhappiness, delays and frustrations. This moment marks the final stage in the turmoil relationships faced lately, especially during last month, and it has an undeniable karmic nuance.

     Besides the current events, this is also the moment when things settle down and we can see the final result in a relationship or financial matter we were dealing with end March - early April last year,something that could have started sometime around October 6th 2002.

     Holidays are still very much on our minds, with the joyful and optimistic Sagittarian influence still strong. However, the general atmosphere on the mundane level continues to be explosive, with the North Node of the Moon still dangerously close to 29 dgrs Aries, where the Solar Eclipse of last April took place. With Saturn squaring the Moon Nodes at the same time, while Mars squares Uranus, events are likely to be related to acts of extreme violence, new terrorist attacks, violent murders, accidents and conflicts.

       These tense aspects will also continue to influence the weather pattern. Around January 2 - 4 we might expect to hear again about extreme weather conditions, temperature changes and strong storms with distructive effects in various parts of the world, as well as an increase of the seismic activity. Power black-outs and breakdowns of the communication lines are also a high possibility now.

       Moreover, the above-mentioned aspects happen against the background set by the Sun squaring the Moon Nodes on January 17th. The influence of this configuration can be felt for approximately 3 weeks, with about 2 weeks before and about one week after the date when the aspect (Sun square Moon Nodes) becomes exact (that is, between January 3rd and 24th ). This kind of configuration usually brings about a period of dramatic events, explosions, fires or accidents in which people die in great numbers.

       The New Moon of January 10th marks the beginning of a new phase. The Sagittarian exuberant and optimistic outlook fades away and, with 4 planets in Capricorn, our minds turn to things related to planning and organizing life, business and career. Jupiter squares the New Moon, weaving overly optimistic expectations, so beware of promising more than you can deliver in terms of contracts and agreements. Saturn opposes the New Moon, bringing about delays and frustrations, but the difficult situations and obstacles can be surpassed by cautiously taking well planned and inspired action.

     Romantic relationships mark a change of pace too, desire, attraction and spontaneity giving way to a more sober approach. For some this may signify realistic arrangements for overcoming the obstacles affecting their future together, while others might experience deep feelings of sadness, knowing they will have to separate soon, due to various circumstances.

     By the time of the First Quarter Moon of January 17th stress and frustrations seem to have reached a very high level. With the Moon in Aries, beware of impulsive actions and excessive nervousness resulted from frustration. This is a powerful and intense moment, so much the more as this phase of the Moon also reactivates the point of the Solar Eclipse of April 19th , 2004. Therefore, events are likely to happen now related to situations encountered around that time, demanding to be dealt with.

     Heavy weather conditions and an increase of the seismic activity are likely to occur again between January 7th and January 13th , and also around January 15th and 17th .

     The financial perspective starts looking rather gloomy, reaching a climax around the Full Moon of January 25th , when Saturn squares Jupiter and opposes both Venus and Mercury. With Mars conjuct Pluto at the same time, we can expect a difficult period filled with problems, breakups, power struggles and financial blockages at various levels.

       Home appliances, electrical and electronic devices, as well as cars could start presenting serious technical malfunctions now, and I guess repair shops will be among the few businesses that could flourish during this period.

      There are 2 other periods of high risk towards the end of the month related to violent events, severe weather conditions and an increase of the seismic activity, the first one around January 23rd ,and the second one around January 30th.
