| APRIL 2005 The month begins on a rather euphoric note, with the ongoing Sun -Venus conjunction beautifully aspected by both Mars and Neptune, which spells dreams come true in love and money matters, joy, happiness and optimism – and all this happy rose haze is further enhanced by Jupiter, who does what he does best: fans the flames and overexpands everything he touches, unrealistic hopes and wishes included. The Last Quarter Moon of April 2nd brings a sobering tone, with the Moon in Capricorn trying to make us come down from the clouds and take a more realistic attitude. We have now the opportunity to see the results of the actions initiated at the New Moon and reap the rewards – financial problems finally settled, old lovers happily reunited, new romantic relationships,etc. – or be lonely and unhappy , depending on how well we managed the energies of the Pisces New Moon of March 10th. As certain issues require a much longer time to develop and result in some tangible, concrete form, this Last Quarter Moon marks the end of a situation, relationship or state of things which began around January 2nd 2003, possibly related to business, career, social image and relations with people representing authority. The period was difficult for personal and professional relationships, and the financial plane was also badly affected. A first dynamic moment occurred early October 2003, when the hopes that things could take a better course were high, but all attempts to make this happen proved to be useless. Things reached a climax early July last year, when we had a clear image of how bad the situation really was on both the financial and the relational front. This Last Quarter Moon of April 2nd brings the chance to end the whole matter on a positive note – OK, maybe not exactly as we hoped, but close enough. Starting with April 5th we find ourselves forced to admit that everything is not quite so wonderful after all, and that we have some more delays and frustrations to overcome – “courtesy” of Saturn. The New Moon of April 8th at 19 deg 06 Aries is also a Solar Eclipse. This is the second one in the series of Solar Eclipses happening along the Aries-Libra axis which started last year,and which will end with a 3rd one completing the cycle in March 2006. The present series of Solar Eclipses requires that we strongly assert our individuality, highlighting action, daring, initiative and independence versus hesitation,compromise and an exagerate desire to keep the peace at any cost within our relationships. The theme for this series is be bold and go after what (or whom?) you want most – and do not let others influence you in any way. According to Bernadette Brady, this Eclipse belongs to Saros series 7 North, a very sensual family of eclipses suddenly arousing deep passions and desires which may have been kept hidden for years, even ones that we didn't know we had buried inside. The Aries Solar Eclipse of April 8th occurs in conjunction to Venus, trine Pluto and sextile Neptune, setting the scene for impulsive and daring action in both romantic and financial matters. The Sun, Moon and Venus in tight conjunction with the North Node give a karmic dimension to the events unfolding now in our lives. This planetary configuration is favourably supported by Mars and Neptune, which add inspiration and a touch of magic. Those of us more spiritually attuned can even perform magic, as the powers of materialization are highly increased now. The only sore spot here is Saturn, who seems determined to teach us how to become mature and strong through frustrations and delays in reaching our goals. Impetus, action and passion are blocked for the moment. We’ll just have to comply and wait a little bit longer, as the restrictions and blockroads will start vanishing by early May. With Mercury retrograde, past actions and situations are under close scrutiny and we can expect to reach a final decision, receive some important news or have a clarifying discussion around May 4th, when Mercury will cross the Eclipse point. Things will really start moving ahead in the areas highlighted by the eclipse around July 10th, , when Mars will be activating the same degree by conjunction. More about the Eclipse here. The First Quarter Moon of April 16th occurs at 26 deg Cancer, with the Moon flanked by Saturn and Lilith, while Mars and Neptune inconjunct Saturn. This configuration opens a week of discouragement and emotional distress over the inability to act according to our wishes and get ahead in both romantic and financial matters. Venus has just entered Taurus a day before, still under the influence of the passionate trine with Pluto, but her being “burnt” by the Sun and squared by both Lilith and Kiron at the same time spells sentimental frustration and heartache. Moneywise too this is a rather testing period. This is also the moment when we have to deal with some difficult issues related to a situation which began around July 17th last year, involving a considerable amount of emotional pain and disappointment. The way I see it, we have two options now : we can either let go of any hope, feel miserable and torn inside for a very long time, or be brave and clear-headed and wait for a better moment to get ahead with what we want. And that moment comes around mid January 2006, when we shall have the right mental to deal with the situation in a practical and organized way, even if this implies taking some slightly unorthodox steps. As a matter of fact, the entire story seems to require a very delicate balance between open action and subtle (or clandestine) manoeuvres to get things moving in the desired direction. The whole matter will end by mid October 2006, with discreet action being the order of the day. With Mars conjunct an extremely favorable fixed star,Spica, and beautifully trined by Neptune, it seems that our actions will be inspired and lucky, so we can expect to successfully overcome the obstacles and restrictions placed in our way. The Full Moon of April 24th which occurs at 4 deg 20 Scorpio is also a Lunar Eclipse. The good news is that this is the last one on the Scorpio-Taurus axis and we will not be having another one until 2013, which gives us ample time to recover from the hardships we’ve been through since November 2002. As Scorpio rules passion and money, while Taurus’s keyword is “to possess”, things will hopefully start settling down on both the relational and financial side. With Venus in Taurus, favourably aspected by Mercury and Uranus, positive outcomes are to be expected. However, beware of placing your hopes too high, committing too soon, promissing too much (be it to a lover, or a business partner), or expecting to see the desired results materialize on the spot, because they won’t. You’ll just need to be patient for a little bit longer. This Lunar Eclipse brings things to a head in an intense situation which found its beginning around October 25th 2003, involving passion and possibly secret dealings for some, or a deeply spiritual time for others.A first dynamic turn of events occured around July 25th last year, when written or spoken words seem to have played an important part in asserting ourselves. Romantic relations for some reached a peak, while others went through painful breakups caused by jealousy or betrayals, as it is always the case with the intensely karmic Venus – Pluto aspects. The period was difficult from the financial point of view too, with sudden losses or unplanned expenses. With the April 24th Lunar Eclipse we have the chance to see how we stand. And things look promissing at this time, provided we keep our heads cool and make an effort to not rush into anything , from committing to a relationship, to signing a business contract. If we fail to do this, the situation could turn more and more difficult by January 22nd 2006, entailing deceptive actions and ending up in sorrow and loss. April ends in real springtime fashion,romance is in the air, mild magnetic attractions becoming ever stronger, some ending up involved in clandestine relations, others just dreaming of , or crying over loves that cannot be. Moneywise, plan carefully your expenses and avoid unnecessary risks. |

A Solar Eclipse is a special New Moon, with the Sun and the Moon meeting at the same degree of the zodiac and within 18 deg 31 min of the North Node or the South Node of the Moon. Solar Eclipses bring about significant changes in our lives related to work, career, social status, relations with persons representing authority. Lunar Eclipses take place with the Sun and the Moon at opposite degrees to each other – they are special Full Moons occuring within 12 deg 15 min from either Node of the Moon. Lunar Eclipses are more emotional in nature and affect matters related to home, family relations, important women in our lives, children, intimate feelings and emotions. Eclipses highlight areas of our lives that need changing, whether we realize it or not. They bring to light hidden problems or issues that we tried to ignore and force us to deal with them. As they occur in connection to the Nodes of the Moon, these changes are meant to make us follow our karmic path. Eclipses can be seen as both an end and a new beginning.
