I opened this section to present you some of my modded Combat Mission terrain tiles.

After the release of Gunslinger´s Combat Mission MODs I was initially hooked by the nearly photorealistic look & feel that his terrain MODs were able to give Combat Mission. However I felt that especially his grass MOD was a little bit too much subdued and looking too much bluish/green. So I decided to try modding the grass tiles myself. Here is what I finally produced and feel happy with. These MODs were produced for the subdued environment and may look "strange" if used with "bright" terrain MODs.

- all Gunslinger MODs except the vehicle/soldier/smokeFX-MOD
- Garry Kump´s MODs
- John"Tiger"S´s rough MOD and his swamp MOD
- Magua´s building MODs

These altogether and in combination with various vehicle MODs give Combat Mission the best look & feel possible, but of course that is my personal taste and others may feel different.

Furthermore I felt that the hedge/hedgerow needed some variation, so I introduced some transparent areas and other changes.

Finally to complement the overall look & feel I reworked the summer and autumn wheat to better fit the picture.

You may find that I repeatedly use the names of some other MOD authors, who produced outstanding terrain and especially vehicle MODs for Combat Mission. If you want to learn a little bit more what this "MODDING" is all about, you should pay Garry Kumps former Combat Mission Outpost a visit. Garry has produced some MODs himself and was running an excellent site which tried to compare the various MODs that are flooding the Web.

His site is now continued by Pete and Robert and called CM-OUTPOST. It´s a MUST to visit this excellent site.

But now to my terrain MODs. I tried to compare them with already existing MODs or with the original BTS files. Simply click on the thumpnails to open up a 800x500 pixel screenshot [40k] and compare them yourselves.

Because I wasn´t absolutely satisfied with the available wheat tiles for Combat Mission and because I felt that already available MODs were either to bright or too much subdued, I decided to do them myself.

This is what I finally produced and what IMHO looks best in the subdued environment in combination with my new grass tiles. But have a look yourselves and compare my wheat with the already existing ones.
