Here are pics of Zip born Feb 20, 2000 out of American
Strutter(Amy) and by Zippo's Last Investment AQHA.
His favorite new buddy is "Chas" who adores the little pest; they meet at the fence for some boy talk and then Zip tries to get Chas to run with him but Chas is far too lazy to run with a kid... Zip is the epitome of incredibly fine breeding, well worth the effort of seeing him through this small disaster. His grandsire is Zippo Pine Bar on one side and The Investor on the other. On Mom's side there is The Strutter as Grampa, and Jackie Bee on the maternal side...he was born to lope and he gets out there doing these beautifully cadenced circles, head down and steady, dreaming of the day he will be out in an arena doing it in front of a judge! **Update** "Zip" had a rough first year; he blew a tendon and to insure a healthy long life, he required surgery to repair the damage. He is still looking pretty sorry, but he has the spirit of a Zippo Pine Bar going for him so he tolerates his daily exercise and waits for the day he can run and graze with the rest of the horses at Back of the Moon.

Caitlin helps imprint Zip as soon as Amy is done checking him out. By spending time with
Zip when he's just born, he will be used to human contact and much easier to train later.
Caitlin's helping him figure out where to go for breakfast.

Zip gets his first bath. He's still a little unsteady on
his feet, but he's gettting better (and drier). With his ears
at half mast like that, he doesn't look like he's enjoying
himself too much, either.

Boy, Amy's really cleaning him up well. Looks like Zip is gonna be a handsome bay, just like his daddy (Zippo's Last Investment.) |
Zip poses for the camera, so we can all see his adorable white nose and crooked blaze. Looks like he's starting to get his legs under him a little better, too. |
Awww!!! Isn't that a perfect picture. |
"Whew, what a long night!" |
