The Master-at-Arms Force functions as the ship's law enforcing agency,
insuring that all ship's regulations and daily routine are carried out properly. The
force consists of six petty officers and one chief petty officer in charge who reports to
the Executive Officer. For matters of routine administration and personnel
accountability, the force is under the supervision of the X Division Officer.
A normal tour on the force for an assigned E-6 or E-5 is six months. The position of
Chief Master at Arms is a billet filled by the Bureau of Naval Personnel.
