Theodore Gilbert Haupt
The above is one of many covers created by the 20th century artist Theodore Gilbert Haupt for the New Yorker Magazine.   T. G. Haupt was born Oct. 11, 1902 in St. Paul, Minnesota and died June 13, 1990 in Indiana.  His art career began in St. Paul but would later take him to New York where most of his work was done. He was a son of Charles Edgar Haupt and Alexandra (Dougan) Haupt of St. Paul and a grandson of Brig. General Herman Haupt.  The above 15 cent magazine (in 1932) now sells for $80.00 and up to collectors.
