| Additional notes on the above: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It is rather common for individuals within a surname group to be represented by different haplogroups. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Individuals with a known common ancestor may have marker values that are slighly different. This is due to the fact that some markers are known to be quickly mutating. An example would be marker DYS 442.
See individuals 2, 3, 4 and 5 above. Their known common ancestor was 8-9 generations back or approximately 300 years. Individuals 2,3,4, 5 and 7 are likely to have a much more distant common male ancestor - likely 500+ years back. |
| Haplogroups above in green have been confirmed through deep clade testing. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Individuals 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 tested with Family Tree DNA labs. Individual 1 tested with Genomac labs in the Czech Republic. Individuals 4 and 10 tested with Ancestry labs. #4 transferred results to Family Tree DNA. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| One really should not compare results from different labs because some labs use different protocols. The haplogroups may remain the same but at times | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
the marker values could be different. Without being tested, one cannot assume your Y-DNA will closely match one of the above individuals unless you are very closely related to the individual actually tested. This is why we need more individuals to be tested.. |
