The World Health Organization estimates that the eyesight of one-fourth of the worlds population can be improved through the use of corrective lenses. Unfortunately for many, a pair of glasses is both unaffordable and inaccessible. in developing countries, an eye exam costs as much as one month's wages, and a single doctor may serve a community of hundreds of thousands of people. For nearly 70 years, individual Lions clubs and districts in the U.S., Canada and several other developed countries have collected old, unwanted eyeglasses for re-distribution to the poor in developing nations. To increse public awareness for this service initiative, thousands of Lions throughout North America sponsored the first-ever Lions Recycle for Sight month in May 1996. Thanks in-part to continuous nationwide publicity in the U.S., the program has been very successful. The general public is encouraged to donate their used eyeglasses and sunglasses to their local Lions club.  The McDonald Lions Club has a number of collection boxes,  located at the American Legion, Heritage Libary, McDonald Pharmacy, Cunninghams Auto Parts, Clarks Barber Shopand SkyBank. Just look for the box with the logo as seen on the left. Your support and help is greatly appreciated.

Join Us in Lionism! Do you want to serve your community? Do you want to help the less fortunate? Do you want to fell the joy of Lionism? Do you feel the need to help

The McDonald Lions Club is composed of several men and women who have a desire to help serve their fellow man. We are not a social or professional organization, we are a civic organization dedicated to serving. But here is the secret, we know how to have fun and by having fun as we serve, we do it well. Membership into Lionism is by invitation only. If you know a member of our club, ask them what it takes to become a member. Not sure if you know a Lion, CLICK HERE to view a roster of our members. Do you recognize someone you know, don't hesitate; ask them.  If you do not see anyone you know, well that not's so, by reading this I know you must be interested in becoming a Lion and now you know all of us. Broom and Bags for Sale.

Fall, Spring or Summer no matter when, The McDonald Lions Club has receivered  a new shippment of  bages and brooms. You can purchase household brooms, street brooms and trash bags to pack up the leaves and other yard trash. You can use the 30 gal bags to pack away your yard furnature or store just about anyting they are strong and durable.  You can purchase Bags at Clarks Barber Shop,  Reliable Savings Bank and SkyBank. Brooms can be purchased at Clarks Barber Shop, or you can contact one of our members for both.
