World Trade Center : Twin Towers |
| On Septemeber 11th, 2001, NY along with the rest of the world was rocked with fear, anger, disbelief and tears. This was the day that a beautiful and priceless part of NY was attacked and heartlessly desecrated by an faceless and cowardly enemy.
Like many New Yorker's, I sat in disbelief as I watched a Famous and loved icon recognized globally crumble to the ground. I couldn't react. I Couldn't cry. I just sat there motionless. What could I say? What could I do? What was left was a void.... an emptiness that I couldn't comprehend. |

As a member of the American Legion Family, I felt as though I had lost members of my own family as the buildings collapsed upon themselves and the thousand of people within their frames. There are no words to describe the emotions I feel. I am still emotionally in shock and numb form this tragedy. There is a pain in my heart that I can only guess is a pain in my heart for those whom passed from our world and for those still suffereing and searching for missing family and friends.
This is not just an American Tragedy. This is a world Tragedy as there were many international businesses and employees who worked and toured these national treasures.
Was it just a coincidence that today in Western NY, it rained or was it the tears of the heavens falling to Earth as they mourned the destruction of so many lives?
