Firestarter Rekindled
Thursday June 28, 2001
An article reported on scifi.com (the offical site of the Sci-fi Channel, which is making Firestarter 2) stated that principal photography has wrapped for the sequel, and that Firestarter 2's name as of now is Firestarter Rekindled, and it is set to air in December. Heres the article:

Firestarter: Rekindled Wraps

Principal photography has wrapped in Salt Lake City on The SCI FI Channel's upcoming original miniseries Firestarter: Rekindled, the network announced. Firestarter: Rekindled--based on Stephen King's original novel--is slated to air in December as a four-hour miniseries.

Firestarter: Rekindled picks up the story of Charlene "Charlie" McGee 20 years after the events in the 1984 feature film Firestarter, which starred Drew Barrymore. Charlie, now played by Marguerite Moreau (Queen of the Damned), is tired of running from the government that created her. But as she searches for answers to her psychic firestarting ability, she runs afoul of Rainbird (Malcolm McDowell), a sociopathic government agent who wants to control Charlie's powers.

Danny Nucci and Dennis Hopper also star. Philip Eisner (Event Horizon) wrote the miniseries, which is directed by Robert Iscove.

Firestarter: The Next Chapter

Production began on it April 17. It wil star Marguerite Moreau , Malcolm McDowell , Danny Nucci and Dennis Hopper. It began shootin around Salt Lake City. I saw a news report on it that says part of the storyline is that Rainbird has finally cought up to her in the movie, but, I could be wrong, FIRESTARTER 1 POSSIBLE SPOLIER:didn't Rainbird die at the end of the book/movie?

The Sci-fi Channel is planning to do a 4-hour mini-series sequel to Firestarter, tentativley titled Firestarter: The Next Chapter.
Charlie has been on the run from the government that created her, and killed her parents for twenty years. The cast is TBA, but it will be directed by Robert Iscove, and executive produced by Tom Thayer. When it will air all depends on whether there will be a labor strike or not.
Margurite Moreau will play Charlie McGee
Malcom McDowell will play Rainbird *spoiler*....back from the dead?1?!?!?
