| Apt Pupil is one creepy movie. The movie was adapted from the novella Apt Pupil from Different Seasons. In the movie Todd Bowde, a nerdy type teenager finds out that his next door neighboor, Kurt Dussander, is a former nazi commander at a death camp. Todd blackmails Dussander into telling all the sick details about the deathcamps. The chemistry between these two characters is frightenly good. The movie has one scary climax. Unlike most psychological horror movies, or just plain horror movies, Apt Pupil is so scary because it never gives the audience a break from the evil, it follows Todd through as he becomes more evil, no comic relif or something like that. This movie gained some unwanted publicity when director Bryan Singer was sued by the parents of extras sued over a shower |
