Lewis's obit said that he was 96 at the time of his death, so that is what I went by to get his year of bitrh. If you notice, Mary's tombstone has Lewis's date of death and Lewis's tombstone says that he died in 1936. What I think happened is that the tombstones were placed long after their deaths and that someone just simply got the dates reversed. In other words, I think since we know that Lewis(by the way, I'm told he liked to spell his name both ways) died on July 18, 1951, it would be a good bet that Mary died on Jan. 14, 1936. If this theory is right then his obit age is off by one year. He would have been 97. So just how do you tell what is right?
