Latest News/Updates...

11.03.03 - Unfortunately, the news I bring is not good for us Brandon fans.  Brandon has been traded to the Houston Astros in exchange for Billy Wagner.  You can read more about it at  I am obviously very upset by this, but I hope this works out for Brandon and it is a better situation for him there.  I will continue to update this website the best I can.

8.28.03 - Huge thanks to Steph for the following article.  Duckworth will remain with the Phillies for the rest of the year, but he will remain in the bullpen.

Duck in the pen for the rest of this season: With Amaury Telemaco holding on to the fifth and final spot in the starting rotation, recently-recalled Brandon Duckworth will need to readjust to life in the bullpen.

Bowa said it that the relocation will only be in effect until next year's Spring Training.

"He'll definitely compete," the skipper said. "He's got good stuff, big-league stuff. He's just got to be more consistent."

Duckworth will be joining a relief corps that has been well-used of late. None of the Phillies' starters have made it through the seventh in the team's last seven games, a pattern that has a direct bearing on the club's success.

"When your starters go seven, your bullpen is effective," Bowa added. "When your starters go five, your bullpen gets exposed ... and that's not going to change.

"You don't expect all your starters to go seven innings, that's a rarity. We were spoiled for a while when our starters were going great."

Duckworth entered Thursday's game, in relief of Telemaco, in the seventh.

8.27.03 - Woo, I am here at Elizabethtown College and things have been hectic so again I apologize for the lack of updating.  I am still trying to find my rhythm.  But I bring good news - Brandon has been recalled.  Thanks to Steph for the following article from

Phils Place Adams on DL, Recall Duckworth
August 27

The Phillies made a few of roster moves Wednesday.

They placed reliever Terry Adams on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain and called up Brandon Duckworth from triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Adams is 1-4 this season with a 2.69 ERA in 65 games. This is his first trip to the disabled list since 1999.

After being sent to Scranton on Aug. 13, Duckworth went 1-1 with a 3.46 ERA in two starts. He had 12 strikeouts in 13 innings.

The Phillies also placed reliever Mike Williams on the bereavement list to handle a family medical matter. To replace Williams, the Phillies have called up 27-year-old righthander Geoff Geary, who was 9-4 with a 2.16 ERA in 46 games (three starts) for Scranton.

Both Duckworth and Geary will be in uniform for Wednesday night's
game in Montreal.
