Blue Lake Bentley aka Boo February 19, 1989 - July 22, 2000 Boo lost his battle with mouth cancer on Saturday, July 22.  He lived one year and eight days after we were told that he would have at most 6 months if the surgery did not take.  It did not.  He was happy up until the last day, when the cancer moved into his lungs and he was in pain and could no longer catch his breath.  Even though eating was painful, he insisted on having breakfast and a Ziggy Cake.  We knew it was time when he was unable to eat the last bite of Ziggy cake.

Don't I look sad?  I'm good at that. My life hasn't been easy so I've had lots of practice.

This is me as a puppy. As you can see, I am a boy.

I was usually a well behaved puppy, but for some reason, unpotting about 50 seedlings seemed like a good idea at the time.

I dress up every Halloween.  To date I have been...a clown (twice), Elton John, a cowboy, an Indian, a ghost (aren't I scary?), a bunny, a farmer, and a Pacific Islander.

In December my human and I ring bells for the Salvation Army.  I have to wear silly reindeer antlers, but I get lots of attention so I like helping out.

As I have gotten older, my human says my manners have gotten worse.  I don't think that's true.  I think that they have gotten better.  A good exaple of my improved manners is what happened on Christmas Eve 1999.

I enjoy my all foods, and music too.

I have a birdie brother and a birdie foster brother

This is my birdie big brother, Captain Nemo. He is the yellow birdie and he is 12 years old.  The blue birdie was his mate, Siva.  She is no longer with us. I have only tried to eat Nemo once, and that was when I was only about five months old.  Now I know better.

This is my birdie foster brother Fred Astaire. Fred is about 7 years old.  He witnessed a murder when he was younger.

I am my human's third dog.  These are my predecessors:

Koko Miniature Poodle 1964 - 1978 My human was 2 and Koko was 3 when he joined the family.  Koko taught my human to speak dog.  One of my human's early memories is that of having a bad dream and going into her parents' bedroom so that she could sleep in the dog bed with Koko.

Barney Black Lab/Golden Retriever Mix 1978 - 1988 Barney was born on the same day that Koko died.  Barney was smarter than the majority of humans out there.  Barney taught my human that for every trick you teach your dog, your dog teaches you two.
