CRYSTAL LITHOMANCY 

INTRODUCTION

Lithomancy is a form of divination by casting stones.  Stones have been used as a method of predicting and guiding by many cultures all over the world for hundreds of years, for example, the Norse Runes. 

Crystals and Gemstones are gifts from The Earth and are sacred magickal tools that aid divination and healing.

Like Runes and Tarot, Crystals and Gemstones work in a similar way by absorbing and releasing energies.  Each gemstone or crystal has it’s own individual properties, colour significance, planetary influences and subtle vibrations.

For many years now, I have been mastering the art of Tarot reading, and was more recently introduced to the wonderful world of Crystals.  I also have previously worked with Runes and decided that it would be nice to use beautiful gemstones as a form of divination tool.  I began to collect various stones and started a search for information on crystal divination.

While finding lots of information on the healing properties of crystals and gemstones, I could not find much information about using them for readings.  I began to compare stones with my tarot cards, read as much information on the individual crystals and gemstones as I could lay my hands on, and began to see that some stones could relate to the meanings of tarot cards.  I made notes of my findings and began to create the start of my own special crystal divination set.

I recently came across on the internet, a site that actually sells Crystal divination sets.  I decided not to purchase a set because I was half way through creating my own, but was delighted to find that you can purchase sets of crystals and gemstones for Lithomancy that come with full instructions.  I will provide a link to this site which I recommend to anyone who is interested in crystal lithomancy.  LINK TO THE CRYSTAL ARCANA SITE by Forewarn Crystals and Chrissie Sheldon.

Personally, I find it very enjoyable building up my own collection of special stones as I can choose stones that “feel” right for me.

Polished tumble stones are ideal for divination, and can be bought fairly cheaply from many New Age shops.  You may also come across special stones while you are at a beach or beside a river.  Small crystals and gemstones are easy to carry around, and can be stored safely in a soft draw-string pouch.
