As I Wander

SOMEWHERE IN TIME

Let me begin by saying that I would like to dedicate this website
to both my Mother and my deceased Mother-in-law without
whom I would never be what I am today.

My Mother is and always will be my best friend. She inspired me
as a young child and still does as an adult to seek whatever
goals I want to achieve and not to give up.

There were always interesting stories that were passed along. I
am sure you may have heard the same ones. They always
always seemed to start out with, "When I was your age....."
and I can honestly say that it wasn't until I had children of my
that I really appreciated those stories! Why I use them from
time to time myself don't you?

Now I really did enjoy hearing those stories about my mother's
youth and then later when my Mother-in-law told some those
too were quite fun. But it wasn't until she pulled out the
pictures that I regained an interest in Genealogy. Not only did
she have pictures she also had a huge book that her brother had
been working on for over 30 years with documentation inside.

I spent three weeks sorting everything out, then placed them
in a computer program. I started going to the library and
searching the Internet for additional information.
I was hooked!!

My Mother's ancestory is very interesting. (it is to me anyway)
We always thought that my Grandmother's father belonged
to a religious group of Brethern. We later discovered that he
was a Quaker. With this information I was able to connect
with a Family branch that has led me all the way to England
and back. There are well over 6000 names to this family and we
are not finished by any means.

The names that I am researching on my Mother's side are:
BROOKS, MURPHY, FITE, STUBBS, CHERRY, WYSONG
WICKERSHAM, TITUS

The names that I am researching on my Father's side are:
BAKER, PARSE, RUCKER, UTT, VIC MARTIN

The family history on my Mother-in-law took me into the
country of Canada, the state of Wisconsin, Michigan and the
state of Washington.
Within the papers she had given me was a copy of "Mary Martel's
book of memiors" called "Our People...The Indians"
This was of most interest. Here I discovered my Mother-in-law's
hertiage was French Canadian/Chippewa Indian. With
the research that her brother made he was able to prove
a relationship with the Chippewa indians and the family all
have their identifaction numbers with the Goverment.

The names that I am researching on my Mother-in-law's side are:
GAGNIER/GONYIER/GONYEZ, ANTAYA dit PELLETIER,
LARRIVIER, LAROCK/LAROQUES, LAPOINTE,
VINET dit LARONT, LATRANCHE, LELANDER,
MORIN/MARIN, MARTELL, VALLEE/VALI/
VALLEZ-VALLEY

Then there is my husband's father. I never met my Father-in-law.
He died when my husband was 21 years old. It was during my
research of this surname that I discovered that my husband was
actually 2nd generation. A new name to research. Another tree
to climb.

The names that I am researching on my Father-in-law's side are:
MAYNARD, KECKEVOCT/KECKEVOET
OLSON, SMITH

Did you come here from a webring? Well, I have a special
page set up just for those who like to travel on the net.

With this group you will never be alone.

Of course what would a web site be without some favorite
links? Nothing so here are some of mine.

Cyndi's List of Genealogy

Below is the best link that I have ever been to for Genealogy. I
first visited Cyndi's web page not too long after she had just
put it up. It was pretty big then but now it's a must to visit
for anyone doing Genealogy. Even if you just getting started
or have been doing this for awhile it's worth going back to.
So you had better get a drink, a pencil and paper and
but don't forget to bookmark my site so you may return
to browse for additional
information.

Thank you for visiting and if you see a surname that is of
interest, please feel free to email me and maybe we will meet
Somewhere In Time

Have a question or a comment? Then I guess you had better
send me

Like my background set? So do I. Don't take it. It belongs to
to me. Want your own? Good this is the place to visit
and get one you might like better.
