Henry Hayes, born Fulwell, Oxfordshire, England, the son of Richard Hayes, arrived in America in 1705. He was a carpenter and married (1) Margaret, (2) Rachel and (3) Isabella. He died in 1745, Chester County, PA. Henry Hayes received a patent from William Penn dated Sept 17, 1718, for 1484 acres of land in Caln and Marlborough Townships, Chester County, PA. He was commissioned a justice of the Quarter Sessions, Common Pleas and Orphans' Court, August 25, 1717, and continued by re-appointment at several times until his death. Henry had the following children:

Stephen Hayes married 1734 Sarah Hope, died 1758 Fallowfield;
James Hayes married 1736 Mary Cox, died 1758, East Fallowfield;

Joseph Hayes, son of Henry Hayes, was bapt. 19 Nov 1698 in Spelsbury Parish, England and married 26 August 1727 in Bradford MM, Jean Woodward, the daughter of Richard Woodward Jr. and Ester Davis. His first wife was Elizabeth Cloud. He died in 1748 in Chester Couuny, PA. His children were:
Rachel Hayes, married 1747 John Moore;
Isaac Hayes married 1750 Hannah Harlan at Londongrove MM;
Henry Hayes married (1)1768 Elizabeth Scott, and (2)1773 Jane Todd, died 1806 near Baltimore, MD;
Abigail Hayes married 1755 Richard Woodward, her uncle;
Joseph Hayes born 1732, Chester County, PA, married 12 Aug 1753 in Old Swedes church, Wilmington, DE, Joanna (Hannah) Passmore, died 1812, Hayes Point, Indiana;
Caleb Hayes married 1756 Mary Bailey, died 1786 Newlin, Chester Co., PA;
Ruth Hayes married 1754 Old Swedes Church, Wilmington, DE Joseph Pyle.

Caleb Hayes and his wife, Mary Bailey, had a daughter Abigail who married James Milleson, Jr. James Milleson, was the son of James Milleson, Sr and his wife Grace Woodward. Grace Woodward was the half-sister of Jean Woodward, mother of Caleb Hayes. The children of Caleb Hayes and Mary Baily were, according to Pamela J. Robinson: Isaac Hayes, born October 12, 1762 in Newlin Twp., Chester County, PA, died October 4, 1844 in East Fallowfield, Chester, PA: Anne Hayes, born in Chester Co., PA, died in OH, married John Cooper; Caleb Hayes, born in Chester County, PA (see query below); Abigail Hayes, born in Chester County, PA (says in Pamela Robinson's pages) died Fayette County, PA, but died Washington County, PA, and married James Millison Jr.; Ellis Hayes, born in Chester County, Pa, died in Columbiana County, OH; and Ruth Hayes, married Joseph Brown.
