This Indenture made this...day of January in the year of our lord one thousand seven Hundred & fifty three Between Henry Lane of the city of newyork/merchant and Rachel his wife of the one part and Joseph Carpenter, Benjamen Stanten, John Caverly and John Latting all of Oyster Bay upon Long Isand in the province of New york of the other part Wittnesseth that they the said Henry Lane and Rachel his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Five hundred pounds current money of the province of New York to them by the said Joseph Carpenter, Benjamen Stanton, John Caverly and John Latting in hand paid at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents-the receipt thereof they do hereby acknowledge and thereof and every part and parcel thereof do aquit release and discharge them the said Joseph Carpenter, Benjamen Stanton, John Caverly and John Latting and each and every of them their each and every of their heirs & assigns for ever by these presents Have Granted Bargained Sold aliened Enforssed remised released and confirmed and by these presents do grant Bargain sell alien effect remise release and confirm unto the said Joseph Carpenter, Benjamen Stanton John Caverly and John Latting thereof actual possession now being by virtuue of a Bargain and Sale by him the said Henry Lane to them the said Joseph Carpenter, Benjamen Stanton John Caverly and John Latting thereof made by Indenture Bearing date the day next before the day of the date of these presents and by force of the Statue for Tranferring of ...into possession and to their heirs and assigns for Ever ALL that certain lott or parcel of Land and premises with the appurtenances being part of a certain tract of Land Granted by his late majesty, King Geroge the first by letters of patent under the seal of the province of New York Bearing date the tenth day of February in the first year of his reign unto Lewis Morris Esq Augustne Graham Esq on behalf of Austine Graham his son, Simon Clarke, Henry Wileman William Bond Henry Rainex and Allexander Griggs marked or numbered in a draftor Chart thereof to a Certain Deed of partition Bearing Date the first Day of May and in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and twenty three ... or mentioned to be made Between Lewis Morris Sen of the first part Lewis Morris Jun & administrators of Augustine Graham in Trust for the Children of the said Augustin Graham deeased of the second part Lewis Gomez of the third part Henry Wileman of the fourth part William Bond of the fifth part and Henry Rainex of the sixth part annexed Number foure With the name Rainex herein Incerted Beginning at the south east corner of a Certain Lott number three Belonging to the said Henry Wileman..Certain Black Oak Tree marked on all four sides with three notches and on the north side W for Wileman and on the South Side R for Rainex and runs in front of the said lott south thirty four chains to the northwest corner of the land formerly of the said Allexander Griggs and Company and thence as their Line runs South thirty four degrees West twenty chains to a White Oak marked with three notches on all four sides and on the north side R for Rainex and on the south G for Gomez and thence the dividing line runs west ninety eight chains to a Black Oak at the foot of the Mountain marked as in the front and thense the said Line Continuing to the rear West forty six chains to the North North East line of the above mentioned Patent at the Mountain as aforesaid Lott number three and the same Lott number four Together with all and singular houses Except before excepted unto them the said Joseph Carpenter Benjamen Stanton John Caverly and John Latting their heirs and assigns for ever to the only proper use Benefitt and Behoof of them the said Joseph Carpenter Benjamen Stanon John Caverly and John Latting their heirs and assigns for Ever AND the said Henry Lane and his heirs the aforesaid Lott of Land and all and singular other their premises hereby Granted and released and every part and parcel thereof unto them the said Joseph Carpenter Benjamen Stanton John Caverly and John Latting their heirs and assigns against the said Henry Lane and his heirs and against all and every other person and persons Whomsoever shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents AND the said Henry Lane for himself his heirs Executors and administrators and every of them doth covenant grant and agree to and with the said Joseph Carpenter Benjamen Stanten John Caverly & John Latting their heirs and assigns and every of them by these presents in manner and form following that is to say that the said Henry Lane is at & Immediately before the Ensealing and deliver of these presents Lawfully and rightfully siezed of and in the said Lott of Land and all and singular other the premises hereby garnted and released of every part and parcel thereof a true perfect & Indefeazable estate in fee simple without any manner of Condition proviso Limitation of any use or uses or any other matter or thing to Determine or alter the same And that he hath in himself full power Good right Just title and Lawfull and absolute Authority to Grant Bargain sell alien remise release enseall convey and confirm the same unto them the said Joseph Carpenter Benjamen Stanten John Caverly & John Latting their heirs and assigns In manner and form Memorandum that on the twenty first day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred & fifty five personally appeared before me Daniel Hersmand Esq. one of the Justices of the Supreme Court of the province of new york Samuel Clowes Jr. & John Combes both of the town of Jamaica on Long Island & did Swear on the holy evangelist of almighty God that they were present & did see Henry Lane within Intentioned sign seal & deliver the within Indenture at his voluntary act & deed and that they did respectively subscribe their names as witnesses thereunto and having carefully perused the same & finding no other Raisures or Interlineation therein other that what are taken notice of to have been done before the time of the exectuion thereof do allow & order the same to be recorded Dan Horsemanden
