Pregnancy and Child Birth are very important areas for all pagans. Pregnancy is a magickal time, filled with wonder, amazement, fear and joy. It is also a time when a woman's magickal energies are very high. She is in tune with Nature and may feel a surge of power whenever she is outdoors. Child Birth is one of the things most women are taught to fear. Yet pagan women know that child birth does not have to be painful. We only need to look to Nature to see that many creatures birth their young with a minimum of pain or discomfort. We also know that pain and fear can be overcome through meditation, self-hypnosis and visualization.
Do not use these oils during pregnancy:
Basil, Clove, Cinnamon, Hyssop, Juniper, Marjoram, Myrrh, Sage, and Thyme.
Not in 1st 4 months:
Fennel, Peppermint, and Rosemary
Other Oils:
Use only 1/2 doses of other oils
To Prevent Stretch Marks:
Try this: Orange blossom soothing in later months add 4-5 drops to 10 ml of almond or sunflower oil and massage gently onto stomach
Stretch Mark Cream
1/4 c Cocoa Butter
1 T Wheat Germ Oil
1 t Light Sesame Seed Oil
1 t Apricot Kernel Oil
1 t Vitamin E Oil
2 t Grated Beeswax
1 t Vanilla Extract,Optional[Note: source unknown]
Mix all ingredients together except the vanilla extract. Heat mixture until the cocoa butter & beeswax have melted; stir well. Remove mixture from heat; cool completely and store in a jar.

Help Ease Pain During Labor
If possible, try and find a wand or pendant that has these four stones in it: amethyst, clear quartz crystal, chrysoprase and aventurine. If you look online, there are pagan stores that will custom create items for you. If possible, hold or wear the item against your skin during delivery. Afterwards, give the item away, preferably to someone who is also expecting or trying to conceive. If you can not find someone to make you one, you can make a small pouch and put one of each stone into it. Hold or wear it during delivery to help ease pain and make the birth easier on both mom and her baby. Afterwards, the pouch should be taken apart, and the stones given away as gifts.To Give Birth to a Healthy Baby
If you are worried that your unborn child may be ill or be born with an inherited problem, cut an apple in half. Take one half and rub the fruit over your belly. Envision any sickness being drawn out of your womb and out of your child, and into the fruit. When you are done, bury that tainted half an apple in the ground, away from your baby's nursery window. Then go wash up, you are probably all sticky. If a tree grows from the seeds left in the buried apple, this is an indication that your child will be very strongly linked to the element of Earth, and will never know hunger. Eat the remaining half while envisioning your baby being born happy and healthy. You may wish to light a green, pine scented candle while doing this. Green candles are great for healing spells, and pine is associated with Earth and fertility. If you are allergic or can't eat apples, throw it out, but take the time to do the visualization.Other Helpers:
Raspberry leaf tea is classic helper for labor..take it for last 6wks before due..add just over 1 oz (30 g)of dried herb to 1 pt of boiling water-infuse covered for 15 min
Herbs- Chamomile,peppermint or linden flower tea is useful..add a touch of grated ginger to enhance
Fennel seed tea (both pregnancy problems and menstrual problems)-pour 2 cupfuls of boiling water over 1 tsp of crushed seeds..seep for 10 min
Chew sesame seeds-rich in nutrients
