Dream Pillow

Supplies:
Cotton or silk material
Any or all
of these herbs: Lavender flowers,
anise pieces, mugwort, jasmine flowers, white sandalwood,
lily of the valley, lilac flowers, chamomile, hops,
skullcap, poppy seeds
Essential oils of any of the above herbs
Needle and thread to sew the edges or ribbon to ties material
Cut a piece
of material to the size you desire the pillow to be. You
will
want your pillow to be no smaller than four inches
square.
In the
center of the piece of cloth, place your herb and oil
mixtures:
for the four-inch square piece, use about one-fourth cup.
For larger pillows
place enough to fill but no overflow your material.
To prepare
the herb-oil mixture, mix equal parts of each of the
herbs desired,
beginning with one tablespoon of each, to get an idea of
the volume of the
final mixture. When you have reached the volume you need,
begin my adding
oils to the center of the dry herbs a few drops at a
time. Knead the
oils in gently with a spoon until the scent is as strong
as you like.
If you are
sewing the pillow, fold it in and sew the cut sides
together with a
slip stitch. You may want to sew some ribbon or cord to
one corner if you wish to
hand it rather than keeping it on the bed.
For those
who would rather not sew, aly the material flat with the
herb mixture
in the center. Take two opposing corners and bring them
together. Do the
same with the remaining two corners. Packing the herb
mixture tightly in
the middle, twist the corners up together and bind them
with a ribbon.
Dream pillows can be used to help remember dreams or to ease nightmares.
