Howling Mad Murdock is The A-Team's wacky and nutty pilot. He flew the team in Vietnam and although he isn't an "official" member of the team, he is definitely a team player and an essential member of the team behind the scenes.

Murdock is an excellent pilot. He was in the Thunderbirds before the war and can fly anything - from your standard chopper to a jumbo jet.

As well as his specialist flying experience, Murdock is a diverse team player with experience gained from being a member of the team. He has experience of military strategy and tactics, and when he's not climbing the walls, is an invaluable contribution to the team.

Murdock's family is never mentioned during the series. He remains an enigma regarding his origins, much like Hannibal. However, he is extremely institutionalised and when he isn't out on missions with The A-Team, he's at the Veterans Administration as a patient.

Murdock is memorable because he's as nutty as a fruit cake. As Face described it, he's a good kind of crazy. Some of his personalities are legendary. Such as Captain Cab in
The Taxi Cab Wars.

Seeing Murdock cheat the system on the show 'Wheel of Fortune' is hilarious.
