Lou (Louise) McCloud
Partial Biography...
We know some bits and pieces about Lou's past. We know that Lou's father was not a very good man, causing Lou's mother to run away from his taking Lou and, her younger brother Jeremiah, and younger sister Teresa. After her mother died, Lou and her siblings were taken to an orpanage which Lou left when she was old enough. She had a job for awhile at the local saloon/brothel, doing laundry, but after a bad expierience with the owner she left there. She started dressing like aboy and that continued as she got her job with the Pony Express. She fell hard for Kid in the very first episode and that love affair continues still in fan fiction.

Hard to believe this beautiful young women could pass as a boy uh? But that's just what Louise did. Louise's mother died after their father ran off. Lou, her brother Jeremiah and sister Theresa were sent to live in an orphanage. After some time Louise ran away promising that she'd return. She got a job at a brothel, not knowing what kind of place it was at first, doing laundry and stuff. After she was attacked by Wicks, one of the owners, her only friend helped her buy a train ticket to St. Jo and start masqurading as a boy. Arriving in St Jo, she found nothing that a young woman without a family could do as decent work. She got a job with the Pony Express and continued to pretend to be a boy. Kid was the first to find out she was a girl and kept it a secret thankfully. Louise also went through many changes, from her boyish behaviour to starting to dress like a young woman around her fellow riders- her family. In the end she and the Kid were married and we can only hope they lived happilly ever after. Just to think what would have happened if Kid hadn't kept her secret.
