Born and raised in Virginia, he is a southern boy at heart. At the begining of the program he is prejudiced even though his family never kept slaves, they were dirt farmers. Kid had a brother named Jed, who was later killed. Apparently his father was an abusive man, we know nothing of his mother. We also have no idea what Kid's real name is, fans have created many ideas as to what it might be though, my personal favorite is that Kid is a junior, and that he never wanted to use his father's name. He falls for Lou at the very beginning of the program and their romance is also the stuff of much fan fiction. His beloved horse is named Katy.

The Kid, what's not to like? That curly brown hair, those blue eyes and his kind nature. Kid rode day and night for the Pony Express not knowing that he was making history. It was always in Kid's nature to do what was right. When it came time to choose sides for the War he didn't think twice about going to fight for his homeland, the South. The Kid under went alot of changes. When Noah fist joined Kid had trouble accepting him because he was black. After a while Kid learns that it dosen't matter what the color of your skin is, being friends is more important. Kid was always a kind, compassionate young man. In the Old West these qualities don't account for much but to fellow rider turned girlfriend they meant everything. Kid was always trying to protect Louise sometimes putting his own life in danger. In the end his efforts paid off and the two were married. Kid's beloved paint mare is known as Katy.
