Character introduced in "In Loco Parentis" as Lulu's boyfriend. Later in Season 1, Brian became Lulu's fiance. ["Solidarity"]

Family background: Not much is known about Brian's family, except his mother was driving Lulu crazy during the wedding plans and that his parents belong to a country club ["The Beginning"]. Brian’s mother lives in New Mexico, where she is ill, requiring Brian to visit her. [“You Belong to Me”, “Ambition”]
Occupation:When he was introduced to Nick, Brian was a finishing a medical residency at an unnamed hospital in Columbus, Ohio ["Solidarity"]. In the Season 2 episode, "Sacrifice", Brian is on staff at Pittsburgh County Hospital and working as a surgeon. After a number of deaths, Brian is investigated. In the end, Brian is cleared of wrong-doing in the deaths. However, Brian failed to disclose to the hospital that he was diagnosed with epilepsy 7 years ago and is currently under treatment for the disorder. Brian's privileges at the hospital are suspended. Brian sues County General for wrongful termination. The suit is for $1.5 million. He eventually settles for substantially less. Brian also gets a job in Columbus Ohio at Columbus Presbyterian. Prostitution Problem:Brian lived in Columbus Ohio and drives to Pittsburgh to visit Lulu and to attend the engagement party thrown by Lulu's friend Kate (another lawyer). He arrives early and Lulu isn't at home. He then goes to a bar and picks up a prostitute. He is arrested for soliciting a prostitute and has Nick represent him. Brian is released with a $ 600 fine and 3 weeks of a class for people who solicit prostitutes. Lulu is unaware of his habit. ["Lawyers, Guns and Money"]
Lulu-Brian courtship and marriage: Brian and Lulu met during a "college mixer" his last year in college. He was off to medical school in Columbus, Ohio. He was finishing his residency in an unknown medical specialty and was planning to go to New York after residency. ["Solidarity"] (I do hope Dr. Brian is specializing in pathology or something that doesn't have to do with direct patient care. His crack about leaving caring about people to Lulu sounds like he shouldn't be allowed to go near living patients.---Milz). He asked Lulu to marry him. ["Solidarity"]. The wedding was to be held at "Brian's parent's country club" and Lulu's ring is rather large preventing her from wearing it at work. ["The Divide"] Overwhelmed by the wedding plans and confused by her feelings for Nick, Lulu and Brian get married in Atlantic City. ["The Beginning"] Lulu reveals to Brian that she knew of his arrest 3 weeks before their marriage. ["Assuming the Position"] She reveals to Nick that she knew that he represented Brian in court ["The Living"] The marriage deteriorates significantly in "Assuming the Position", when Lulu learns of Brian's prostitution trouble ["Lawyers, Guns and Money"]. As of "Sacrifice", Brian and Lulu's marriage is headed toward separation, with Brian planning to return to Columbus, Ohio. Lulu didn't know Brian was an epileptic until it was revealed in "Sacrifice".
