Firm History: After Fallin & Associates became “Caldwell & Asociates” (click here for explanation), Nick Fallin, Jake Straka, and three F & A associates, Henry Stone, Lisa Jacobi, and Arnold Parker decided to leave and form their own law firm by taking their current F&A clients with them. Parker informed Caldwell of this plan, which worried the former Senator. This caused a chain reaction wherein Nick learns of the “Deal” between Caldwell and Burton. The “deal” was brokered during Nick’s drug possession arrest: Caldwell used his political influence in exchange for a partnership at F & A when his political career ended. In other words, Nick was ultimately the reason why Caldwell took over F& A when Burton resigned for the Federal judgeship.[“The Beginning”] With Nick’s subsequent arrest and detainment for Mandy Gressler’s death, Stone and Jacobi returned to Caldwell & Associates. Jake, however, stuck it out with Nick and even hired James Mooney as an associate in the fledgling law firm The law firm is dissolved off-screen after Burton resigns the judgeship. Jake and Nick get their old jobs back. James comes along as an associate, though his employment is not formalized. ["The Next Life"]
