sugar 2 cups, grated coconut 3 cups
water 2 cups
margarine or butter 2 tablespoonfuls
1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence
1/4 teaspoon colouring
place the butter in the pan, and fry till it is hot, over low heat.
then add the sugar and stir till it is a smooth treacle.
add grated coconut and stir continuously.
transfer to a greased plate.
when cool cut in small pieces, and refrigerate when cold
|Chocolate Walnut Fudge
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 tin condensed milk
300 grams granulated sugar
4 tablespoons butter or margarine
5 tablespoon water 225 gms walnuts, cut into small pieces
a few pieces of walnuts, quartered for decoration
put all the ingredients except the walnuts in the frying pan.
stir until the sugar dissolves completely
boil steadily, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a small ball consistency.
remove from heat. Stir in the small walnut pieces and pour into a greased plate.
when cool cut into squares decorate with walnut pieces
