m.v.'Security'

I joined the 'Security' in September 1959 as 2nd. Mate/O.I.C.

This is the m.v."Stability"  which is another 'Yellow Peril', sister ship and exactly like  the "Security" and "Seniority".

The m.v. "Security" was a 3 hatch dry cargo ship, and sister ship to the "Seniority". Unfortunately they had been having major engine problems and decided to remove the complete engine back to their workshops. The company who built the engines was Sirron in Newbury, Berkshire which was a subsidiary of the ship's owners F.T.Everard & Son.

I was again working as O.I.C. (officer in charge)and the only person on board, so my wife and baby son, Duncan Kenneth, came and stayed at Great Yarmouth with me, while I was standing-by. I was there about a month.
