BSA Golden Flash 650cc 1957 |
|
My brother Bob changed his Famous James, for a BSA 650cc Golden Flash. He ran it solo then later fitted a big 2 seater Swallow Sidecar. This company, known as SS built Jaguar Cars. It was Reg NoXHN 72. The picture I have here though, is, I think, a 500cc Shooting Star, which is similar, but smaller engine. |

Raleigh Sports Moped 50cc 1965 |
|
| I bought this new in 1975. It was a 2 seater with automatic variable gears, and capable of 60mph, being pre '30mph law'. It was carried on the ship and covered '000s of miles, including taking the Chief Engineer and me from Rouen, in the north to Paul Ricard in the south, for the French GP. Its reg No was EKR573C | Sadly, I have no pictures. (It looked very like the Yamaha picture next)... |
| Yamaha FSIE 50cc Sport 1976 | |
| In 1977, when Gawaine was 16 we bought him a 1 year old, 'Pre 30mph Law' Yamaha 'Fizzy'. It was the love of his life, until it was stolen from our (closed) garage. The local Police did recover it a few weeks later, and after rebuilding it from its damaged state, we were amazed when the Police made the parents pay the cost. It gave him freedom to play rugby after school hours. Its Reg No was, KNL 357 P | |
