Could be Better
I purchased this item for my 2 year old son and was disappointed with how the flashlight was made. My husband had to solder it after one day of use. I know it's meant for costume purposes and maybe for one night only. However the light is dim and can't really be used for trick or treating on Halloween or as a safety light as the packaging says. I may have just gotten a bad light, but for [...] dollars retail you'd think it would work better and be brighter. I also don't know if on the packaging it says it is "for play only" which would explain a lot. The Bat-a-rangs are hours of fun for the right age group, and I would recommend it for you if you have a Batman crazed child like mine, they'll still love the flashlight just because they would have their very own Batman signal.

Looks nice but piece of junk....
Within a few minutes of using the flashlight for the first time it stopped working. I have to bang it against my hand for it to come back on. You have to hold the button down for it to shine (does not stay lit like a regular flashlight). The light is dim. Besides that my son LOOVES it and it was a very cool addition to his Batman Costume. I would buy this for costume purposes but not for actual play (won't last long!).

Cool Batman Toy, terrible design
My son loves Batman, and dressed as him for Halloween. We bought this to go along with his costume (and for him to play with after Halloween). Everyone thought this was so cool, especially my son. The flashlight projects the bat symbol just like in the show. However, it only lasted the one night, then the flashlight just quit working. :(
