Phillies vs. Cincinnati- May 10, 1980

In a game featuring two Hall-of-Fame pitchers, Tom Seaver got the best of Steve Carlton, winning 5-3 behind a home run, 2-RBI game from first baseman Dan Driessen. The Phils scored on homers from Bake McBride, Larry Bowa (an inside-the-parker, of course) and Mike Schmidt, but could only manage one more hit off of Seaver over seven innings. Tom Hume picked up his fifth save for the Reds. The loss dropped the Phils below .500 again at 11-12.

  • Phils' Record: 11-12
  • Place: 4th place, 5½ games behind Pittsburgh.
