CHAPTER 01: GOOD MORNING

(A/N: This is a sequel to a fic entitled "Rope Tether", I urge you to read that as well, but I'm not sure if it is absolutely needed.

Warnings and Apology: Lets get the warning out of the way. This fic contains Shonin-ai as well as yaoi (malexmale sexual relationship). You get queasy from this don’t read. No flames for Rina! As for the apology, for those of you who have read (or looked at, if you can’t read Japanese like I can’t) the manga, I know nothing of it other that which I have come across on sites, I only know the anime that is base around Muraki stuff. So take my background info with a grain of salt, but don’t flame me if I’m wrong about something. You can tell me but I can’t guarantee I will change anything in the story.)

Kurosaki Hisoka whimpered helplessly, his chest heaving with panting breath as his body convulsed with pleasure. He could barely think clearly as his partner, Tsuzuki Asato, trailed searing kisses down his stomach, lingering just above his...

*Knock, knock, knock.*

Hisoka whined with aggravation, his eyes squeezing shut. He shifted to get up, and get the door, but Tsuzuki held him in place beneath him. "Ignore it."

He needn’t say anything more as he teased his mouth down Hisoka’s bare thighs. Hisoka bucked, getting lost in the white fire spreading through his veins. "Tsuzuki..."

*KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK*

Tsuzuki growled in frustration, looking up from his task. Hisoka was panting still, but had the dignity to shift out from under Tsuzuki and search for his clothes. "Aa? Who’s there?"

"It’s Watari, we have a meeting. Get your butt out of bed, lazy!" a chipper voice called playfully, then the footsteps trailed off down the hall. Tsuzuki moaned and collapsed on the bed, as Hisoka finished dressing by pulling a shirt over his head.

"Daijoubu, Tsuzuki," Hisoka said, watching as Tsuzuki reluctantly clamored off the bed and snatched up his pants off the floor. Hisoka smiled lightly as he walked over to his lover, reaching out to tug down on his partner’s shaggy brown hair. Tsuzuki hissed out painfully then leaned down as Hisoka wanted him to. "We’ll have plenty of time together after the meeting." He laid a short soft kiss on Tsuzuki’s lips, before turning and starting out the door.

Tsuzuki smiled after him, but didn’t ask for him to stop or wait. He knew that Hisoka wanted to keep their affairs a secret, and although the couple knew their co-workers understood their relationship was growing, Hisoka didn’t want to announce that they were sexually intimate quite yet. Tsuzuki didn’t say anything about it to his friends, but he knew that his comrades had been enlightened to this fact a while ago. They knew something was occurring between the two and it was only a matter of time before they realized he and Hisoka were lovers. Tsuzuki humored Hisoka on any accord, happy, if only, to have him as his own in private.

Moreover, although Tsuzuki was very upset that Watari chose that moment to interrupt them, he knew exactly what the meeting was for. With a playful smile and a confident spring to his step he walked down the stairs of their apartment complex and outside in the bright morning. Around him the pink sakura petals danced and floated, per usual, as they never faded in Juohchou. He reveled in the sweet smell in the air and the thought of having Hisoka all to himself that night.

The gathering room, where the others were waiting for him, was decidedly dark, but not quite gloomy. Behind the chief, Konoe, and Tatsumi Seiichirou’s chairs the sunlight sent shards of light onto the black tabletop before them. The others were sitting patiently, so Tsuzuki slipped into a seat beside Watari and across from Hisoka who was sitting next to Tatsumi. Other than the five human forms, there was no one, which made Tsuzuki narrow his violet eyes slightly.

Where were the Gushoushin? They were in on this too.

"Now that we are all present, I will begin," Tatsumi was saying, as he stood from his chair. He looked at Tsuzuki, then Hisoka, his blue eyes bright behind his wire-rimmed glasses. "Tsuzuki, Kurosaki, you will not be attending this meeting, but we needed to you both here to inform you that you are to go to Earth for a important case. Gushoushin are on Earth already at this address," he passed a slip of paper to Hisoka, who was still sitting beside him, his green eyes curious, "They have all the information you will need for the case."

There was a paused where both Tsuzuki and Hisoka were looking at him strangely. This was not the usual procedure, not to mention neither of them knew there was any immediate danger on Earth.

"I know this is not procedure, but the rest of the meeting it merely discussing some new inventions Watari has conjured up," Konoe assured them. "I assumed you would not need to hear of his reckless endeavors."

Watari narrowed his light brown eyes and tilted his head in defense, he opened his mouth to rebuttal, but Tatsumi raised his hand and nodded to Hisoka. "You are free to take your leave. Please get to Earth promptly."

"Aa," Hisoka replied and stood, half dragging Tsuzuki out as he looked very confused by this whole ordeal. Once the door to the conference room was shut securely behind the partners, Tatsumi sighed.

"Tsuzuki looked utterly confused, perhaps we should have let him in on how we were going to go about doing this," he said half to himself.

"Nah, Tsuzuki will be fine. He’ll figure it out, besides he’s the one benefiting the most from all of this."

Tatsumi looked over his shoulder at the blond male, who was smiling wickedly at his own comment. Tatsumi readjusted his glasses. "Really? I do believe Kurosaki will benefit from this just as well."

"The innuendoes are unnecessary, gentlemen. I’m assuming they haven’t spoke of their affairs for a reason. Making light of their relationship is probably one of those reasons," the chief scolded, making both younger men turn to look at him. He leaned back in his chair and immediately regretted even bringing it up.

"What was this about my ‘reckless endeavors’?" Watari exclaimed, leaning forward in his chair over the surface of the table. "I’ll have you know those ‘reckless endeavors’ have helped out the shinigami many times."

"Just as many times as they’ve blown up something," Konoe countered.

Watari opened his mouth to counter that comment, then shut it abruptly and sat back hard with a frown and his arms crossed over his chest. "That’s besides the point."

"Perhaps we should get to Earth," Tatsumi suggested, with a fond smile. "If we are to get there before them."

"Aa," the chief replied and their three forms shifted into a metallic shimmering silver, before they disappeared.
