There is something tho', that doesn't agree w/ the essence of the weapon, a sensing of something other than danger or death ... "Aaah, Mother, what is that I feel flowing from the Trees ahead? It's so strong & deep, so compelling; I cannot bear to ignore it!" "ThunderWolf, my dear, that is the calling of the deep & wild passion of the man who awaits you." I opened my heart and pulled in the thoughts ... You smelled my perfume & it excited you -- pine needles, cinnamon, willow leaves and narcissus -- I sensed your arousal. I felt your lonliness and your memories, the beliefs that lay just beneath your doubts, and your gentle heart ... I need to understand the essence of these things, so I asked Grandfather Maple to gently lull you to a Peace where you would not leave. I was so entranced by the heat of your inner fire; I became careless and you heard me. You were so magnificent cradled in the black gnarled branches w/ the breeze throwing your long hair here and there; your well-defined muscles, and your eyes ... "Those eyes, Mother, I must know him!" I heard whispers of "He's the One", from the animals who walk w/ me every day. My heart raced and my blood beat a rhythm I've never danced to before. "He's the One - He's the One" You caught sight of me, as I now intended, and the emotion you threw my way, as you jumped to the ground, was nearly stunning. I led you down the Path, once I recovered, and as you raced tgo follow closely I felt your love -- love! -- I knew I had to have this sharing w/ you. You were so splendid; but I had to be sure. The vines and underbrush tangled closed around you, barring your way just before my home. You were frustrated and confused thinking you had lost me; or had you dreamed me? I ached for you as you noticed the black flower of passion and knelt to pick it. I prayed you would not give up. You didn't; you saw the door to my retreat and entered into the darkness. Your eyes took in the tools of my life but did not see me in the shadows behind you. I gently blindfolded you as I whispered to you of things to come. Touching you, even as simply as covering your eyes, went through me like lightning! I led you over to my bed of rabbit furs & sweetgrass, stripped you of the combersome clothes you wore and laid you down. I ran my hands all over your hard, smooth body. I touched you everywhere, drawing my long fingernails gently, teasingly through your hair, down your neck, across your nipples down to your strong thighs ... needing to know every inch of you. That not being enough, my tongue danced it's way around -- nibbling, kissing, tasting the sweetness of your desire. Ah god, the ecstasy -- that's when you touched me... "Yes I have known you before; now I will know you again." Finally dancing the Dance of Wolves, we made wild and unbound love as we each responded, mirroring touch for touch, gentle bite for gentle bite ... You left the next dawn, taking the Black Narcissus w/ you. I whispered to the Great Spirit - "Oh I could love him sweetly, but I am afraid ..." Licking my lips, tasting the salty sweetness left of your loving, I felt so alone and so cold inside. I stood there, staring through tears as the Path closed behind you. "I do hope, deeply, you are a patient and persistent Hunter".
