Anyone who's ever had any dealings with SUNurse should read this, and everyone else should learn to beware, things are not always as they seem. Many people who dealt with SUNurse found their rents, insurances and retirement premiums unpaid. It seems the owner of the company was not making the payments, sometimes not paying nurses, and leaving those who worked for him stranded emotionally and financially. It all came to a head about 2 years ago, then he just seemed to disappear.
Below is the post written by the woman who helped to put him behind bars, his step daughter, Carrie.
To anyone out there who may be interested?
My name is Carrie Mello and I used to work for Michael Johnson the former owner of SUNurse. The reason I am posting on here is to let everyone know what has happened in two years since the dismantling of Sun. I know he owes a lot of people a lot of money. He is presently in the Sebastian county adult detention center. The wage and Labor board out of Dallas, TX is very involved with any additional charges that may be brought against him. I have all of the contact numbers for them if anyone needs them. Before anyone jumps all over me yes I am his step daughter and together with my mother we have managed to put this man behind bars. I am not sure what recourse anyone will have but at the very least I wanted to let anyone who he may owe something to (this also includes me) what was happening. He also had started another company called Sun Specialty Unit Nurses, LLC. His current wife is the owner of this business. She is also under investigation by the wage and labor board, not to mention the F.B.I. and the I.R.S.
The few former employees that I still have contact with are getting together with me to see if we can get a class action suit brought against him. Not that we can get anything out of him but if he ever does have anything we can get in line with everyone else to get some monetary restitution. I don’t even know if anyone that used to travel for him still reads this site but if anyone knows of someone he owes money to please forward this message. I hope this information will be helpful to anyone that got hurt by this man and just for the record I want to let everyone know I was not involved in anything he had done in the past and have cut any and all ties with him as far as I am concerned he can rot right where he is for a very longtime.

June 17th 2002 ..Just an update to everything Mike was going to have an appeals hearing on the 24th of this month to see if he could get out with some kind of deal and the Dept. of labor went to the prosecutor on this case and requested that he not be released due to the fact he would probably run. So he's still in jail
Aug 13th 2002 update...... Mike Johnson was back in jail at the Sebastian County Adult detention Center AR. The phone number is listed and more information can be gained by calling them directly.
