Choosing a Company

There are plenty of companies out there, and they all want YOU to work for THEM. They offer many of the same benefits, but some benefits might be more important to you than to other people. You might not care if your housing is shared, but you really want that 401K. Or you might have specific medical insurance needs.

Call up a number of companies and ask questions, compare benefits, talk with recruiters. Find a recruiter that you feel comfortable talking with, that you feel goes out of her/his way for you, that you can get in touch with when you phone. Then settle on a few companies, half a dozen or more, and send in your applications. Some people have created standard applications, resumes, and skills checklists that they send out or fax to companies instead of filling out all of their applications. Whatever works for you.

So here are a few questions to ask companies. It's not complete yet, but it's a start.
