I am now fairly convinced that Kes and Neelix are in fact Archachatina marginata, as they don't have the zig-zag pattern of tiger snails and there is some colouration inside their shell-lip.  (See gallery page 2).  Bought a new hood and terrarium bulb for the new 3 foot tank, although I think its a bit bright.  May be a bit better when the "furniture" is all in place.  I've ordered a new cork tunnel for the tank, and I'm going to invest in some plastic plants and a new backdrop.  Found a cool ammonite-shaped reptile dish the other day, which so far they haven't knocked over.  (Although Kes keeps sitting in it... must be comfy!)  Kes doesn't appear to be eating her shell anymore.  Also, the cuttlefish bone is being devoured at an alarming rate.

Got a new 3 foot tank last Sunday, and I've cleaned it and set it up last night for all of the snails.  (Neelix and Kes were getting a bit cramped in the 18 inch tank, and seem much happier.  Kes is still eating her shell, however.)

Went up to Shrewsbury for alleged margies but, alas, there were only fulicas.  However, there were several that were extremely pale in the flesh.  I bought one of these and brought him home, putting him in the fulica tank straight away.  He's definitely much lighter than the others.  Quite confusing.  I'll take a digital photo and post it.  Hopefully someone can help me to identify if he is a sub-species.  I've called him Boo Radley.

Got home last night and Joey and Pacey have laid eggs!   I estimated that there were about 300 eggs, of which I have kept 30.  I have placed them in a small critter-keeper on top of the tv, and am misting them regularly.  Also, I have caught Kes eating her own shell!  This is in spite of the fact that she has more cuttlefish than you can shake a stick at.  I picked her up and put her on the cuttlefish, and she seemed to get the idea after a bit.  Neelix is very reclusive and EXTREMELY nocturnal, but both seem to be healthy enough.
