| Kenny grew up in Luttrell, Tennesee, just north of Knoxville. He developed a love for music while attending East Tennesese State University in Johnson City, TN. After receiving a guitar for Christmas, he played continously for five hours a day. Eventually he joined a bluegrass band and started writing songs and was playing in bars.In December of 1990 he graduated college and in January of the next year he moved to Nashville. |
| Kenny's first signs of sucess came with his "All I Need To Know" cd, with it came the hits Grandpa Told Me So, Fall in Love and the title track. Then came his second release from BNA Records "Me and You", this cd gave the music world songs like When I Close My Eyes and the title track. This was also Kenny's first Gold album. He followed this up with a platnium album named I Will Stand, and along with this cd came a number 1 hit and three top 10 hits. And as an added bonus he included an acoustic version of When I Close My Eyes. Then came the release of Everywhere We Go. This cd has a variety of music on it. Whether its an uptempo dance along with song like She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy or its soft loving melody like You Had Me From Hello, Kenny hit it with this album. It is already double platinum and has four hits from it. And from this point Kenny released his Greatest Hit complatioin disc last year.
