Rowany Festival AS XXXXIII
Market Day 2009
Some of the Goodies you can expect to find on offer from me this year include.....
Carried by Christians and Muslims and Jews alike. Also known as worry beads.
Beads could be of simple wood, or precious gems. Often a skull was incorporated into the design to show understanding of our mortality. Coral was also featured as it held talismanic qualities.
Either held in the hand or worn tucked into a belt, and usually of only 10 'prayer' beads, larger quantities were known.
