Wind Pirates of Orlanth - The Duke of Winds

The Duke of Winds is Moonson's representative in these benighted lands of the Lunar Highlands.  His actual title is the Duke of the Outer Reaches, Protector of the Orlanthi but everyone safely out of his earshot calls him the Duke of Winds.  A noble of Dara Happan extraction, the Duke John Leeward takes his responsibilities very seriously.  He is responsible for the civilian administration of the vast reach known as the Highlands and he defers to no one in these duties.  Military matters however are the responsibility of the Admiral of the Blue Fleet and his admiralty office.  The Duke ostensibly follows the official government line regarding the proper treatment of the Orlanthi but unofficially he is quite a bit more lenient in his approach to the Orlanthi question.  The Duke's entire family has been left back home in the city of Jillaro and he makes as little effort to socialize as he can get away with.  The Duke is a great builder and architect and engineer and he loves nothing better than building things.  He is also a cavalry general but only has a token mounted bodyguard in Boldhome since there is no pasture.

His present obsession is in finishing the Great Line of semaphore stations between Boldhome and Dragonsrest.
