Welcome to the official web site for IPN: The Illegal Programming Network.
|IPN was born out
of the desire to help other comedy shows on public access television get more exposure
across the United States and beyond.
But in the year of the threatening Millenium bug, it became something greater. . .
Our last best hope, for Public Access.
Actually, IPN has become a unified network of shows and programs being created by the men and women in the TOM Collective and those related or befriended by them.
What is the TOM Collective, you ask? Good question.
Another topic for another page. Anyhow . . .
The name "IPN" is based off of it's flagship comedy program, "Illegal Programming (after midnight)". No bias was ever intended towards the naming of this new network; it just sounded cool. :-)
The importance behind IPN is simple:
|We feel that
public access can offer entertaining, alternative programming not found on commercial
television. With IPN, a variety of programming can be shown within an hour and
provide different entertainment for the loyal, couch potato.
Shows such as "Illegal Programming (after midnight)" offering fancy editing, cool effects, parodies, skits, and rude material you wouldn't want to show at your church gatherings.
Other shows such as "Video Difficulties", which offer the traditional taste and flavor of sketch-comedy, but in a disturbing way that can only be found on Public Access.
And then there's the new "Panic Button" by insane in the membrane Justinsane for all the best in talk and variety entertainment.
Other shows are only just a footstep away from making the one giant leap for IPN and Public Access television.
On this site, you will be able to see the shows who have joined the network, sponsors who support and believe in IPN, a programming schedule, and a survey form where you can vote for your favorite program featured on IPN.
