MY EARLIEST SUBSTANTIATED CRAFT ANCESTOR IS THOMAS CRAFT CA 1775- 1826. I BELIEVE HE WAS BORN IN TENNESSEE, AND HE DIED IN UNION      COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
HIS DAUGHTER, MARY CRAFT MARRIED MY GGGG GRANDFATHER, JOHN TWEEDY CA 31 AUG 1811 IN UNION COUNTY, ILLINOIS. THEY HAD THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN:
JAMES M.(MY GGG GRANDFATHER), JOHN, ELEANOR ELLEN, ROBERT CRAFT, ELIZA, SURILDA, WILLIAM GEORGE, SINGLETON PERRY, LUCINDA AND MARY L.
THERE WAS A JANE CRAFT WHO DIED IN UNION COUNTY CA 1822. I BELIEVE THAT SHE MAY HAVE BEEN THE MOTHER OF MY THOMAS CRAFT. BELOW      IS HER WILL:

I JANE CRAFT OF ILLINOIS STATE UNION COUNTY BEING SICK AND WEAK IN BODY BUT IN PERFECT MIND AND MEMORY THANKS BE GIVEN TO GOD. THEREFORE CALLING TO MIND THE MORTALITY OF MY BODY AND KNOWING THAT IT IS APPOINTED FOR ALL MEN ONCE TO DIE I DO MAKE AND ORDAIN THIS MY LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT THAT IS TO SAY PRINCIPALLY AND FIRST OF ALL I GIVE AND RECOMMEND MY SOUL UNTO THE HANDS OF GOD WHO GAVE IT AND FOR MY BODY I RECOMMEND IT TO THE EARTH TO BE BURIED IN A CHRISITAN LIKE AND DECENT MANER AT THE DISCRETION OF MY EXECUTORS NOTHING DOUBTING BUT AT THE GENERAL RESURRECTION I SHALL RECIEVE THE SAME AGAIN BY THE MIGHTY POWER OF GOD AND AS TOUCHING SUCH WORLDLY ESTATE AND DISPOSE OF THE SAME IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER AND FOR I PROMISE IT IS MY WILL AND I ORDER THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE ALL MY JUST DEBTS AND FUNERAL CHARGES TO BE PAID AND SATISFIED
