Hello, and Welcome traveler, A personal note to let you know a little about me. My name is EarthWytch.
I started my journey a long time ago, with my love of nature. When I was younger I was raised no religion, Christian, Jehovah Witness, etc, etc. I didn't feel any connection with any of these, but the one place I could always find peace and acceptance was with nature. Whenever I could, I would steal away, to sit on a hillside, take a walk in the woods, sit on the beach, listen, and commune with nature in all its glory. If I listened carefully I could hear the winds whisper, the waters talk excitedly, and when I would dig my hands into the earth, I could feel the energy of our Mother Earth. I didn't live as a Pagan then, for the only reason that I didn't know it existed. I didn't know there was a religion, or belief system, or whatever you want to call it, I just knew that I could feel it and stayed within its comfort.
Then the wonderful world of cyber opened up for me, where I made some wonderful friends. I have changed a lot since learning about the world inside of this computer. Maybe changed is not the word that I seek, maybe growth or discovery of that which was always inside of me. Recognizing it, letting it out and learning from it, has made my life a lot better. Then some friends showed me the way to a wonderful place where I could learn more about myself without having to worry about ridicule and disdain while learning. We can be found at The Grove which is a newsgroup and also Sacredgrove .
It is a wonderful peaceful place where one can go to learn and share about their path. Hope to see you there :)
There is a diversity in being a Pagan that I very much enjoy. I learned that there is merit in every path, and I can't follow one path, as of yet. I think the best label if I have to use one would be eclectic Pagan. I use the knowledge that I have (not an expert) of the Kabbalah, which is an ancient Jewish system of spiritual knowledge that forms the basis of the Western Traditions Qabalah, as a balance to go forth and find my path. Balance being one thing that I crave, but have a hard time finding within. It bases its spiritual knowledge in The Tree of Life. Tifareth (a name I used for a time, and still feel is a part of me, if not the whole) is a sphere on the Tree of life. It has 10 spheres, Tifareth being the 6th sphere, one of the three spheres of the soul. Tifareth means beauty and harmony and is associated with the center. But not only the center of the being, the center of the Tree also. Every sphere is connected to Tifareth, with one exception, Malkuth. Malkuth (Kingdom) is one of the spheres of personality, associated with the external world and senses. Some believe only in the evidence of the senses. Tifareth (soul) is the link between the spirit and the personality. When living from Tifareth (the center) spiritual awareness can be manifested, creating beauty and harmony. Instead of perceiving yourself as a body with a personality and soul attached, think of yourself as a soul, with a personality and body attached. This perception will bring a state in where one can get in touch with feelings and love, will and thoughts, future and past, resulting in complete balance. Tifareth is also seen as the spirit of the five directions----earth, fire, air, water and spirit.
I explored Witchcraft, finding the Witch inside which I can not ignore, but there was something calling me, in the the paths steeped in nature such as the Druid & Shaman paths. As long as the path is not a structured, do it this way, I can explore knowing that God and Goddess are always there with me. I have a great love of nature, our Mother Earth and all the children who reside here. I find energy and spirit in everything, rocks/gems, plants/trees, animals, the water we drink and the air we breathe, fire, and the earth. So this is where I am in my life currently. I don't feel like I have made huge advances in my enlightenment, but I do feel more at peace these days, and I learn new things each and every day.
Eight words the Rede fulfill--ere it harm none, do as ye will. What ye send forth come back to thee, so ever mind the rule of three. Follow this with mind and heart, until merry meet, merry part and merry meet again.
Peace and light Traveler, May the Gods and Goddesses always smile on you and may you find peace in your chosen path.
So mote it be!
