*Anime Boston Advertisement* The Officers of SSAS would like to request a $5+ donation from members to put in an advertisement for the club in the Anime Boston 2004 Convention booklet. This will be a great boost of publicity for the club because thousands of anime fans will read the ad.Donations are not mandatory, but any donations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for all donations. *SSAS at PortConMaine* Reps. of SSAS will be attending PortConMaine in Portland, Maine on June 19-20. In the Artists Alley Costume Fantasy, Christa Newman’s costuming website, will have a table to sell various costuming pieces. Parts of the sales will go to the SSAS treasury. This will gain a good amount of money for the club to use for meetings, events, and advertisement. If any members go to the event please stop by the table or, if you have an extra hour of slow time you could help sell at the table and support the club. Hope to see you there. *Sushi Joy: A Success * On January 17th at 7:00 PM, five members and a new face, Katie (member, Ali’s cousin) met at the Sushi Joy Restaurant in Plymouth for a Japanese feast. This night was a great success and lots of fun for all. Liz, Christa, and Zarah (+ family) met at the library at 6:30 and carpooled to Sushi Joy where we met Ali and Katie. After we had seated and started to browse the menu of delicious oddities, fellow member, Laura, join us. The group picked many appetizers to try such as; Octopus, Squid and Crab Dumplings. The group discussed many subjects from anime/manga to club events to sports. All in all this night out was a fun event that all agree must be repeated with the rest of the members that sadly could not make the outing.

Best bets are the ebiten, feather-light, tempura battered shrimp and vegetables, and the prime sirloin steak ishiyaki, cooked and served sizzling on a hot stone. Scads of sushi choices, 21 appetizers, and wine and beer round out the menu. Try the red bean ice cream for dessert. * Next Meeting * November 14th Events:10-Minute-Dash Fanfic Contest This is what you’ve been waiting for! Bring your paper, pen, and imagination.
